Long time lurker here. Just thought I would put my 2 cents in here as I just received my Canon 7D camera with 24-70mm lense.
First off before I talk about the camera itself I would like to talk about DD Photographics. Had nothing but a good experience with these guys. I ordered it last Wednesday (24th October) and it arrived the next day! Shocked by this, thought it would at least take 3-4 working days. All arrived in excellent condition, product was well packaged, no issues whatsoever..
Now for the important bit THE ACTUAL CAMERA. Trust me when I say that this is the absolute top of the line camera. This is for your hardcore photographer (which I am). I have already photographed 2 weddings with this beast and both couples have marveled at the picture quality. Very reliable camera, CAN take a little bit of time to work out as there are TONS of features. If you are dedicated and love your gadgets which I do then you'll enjoy the learning process.
The Canon 7D has 4 processors which means there is minimal lag and processing time.
Hope this helps some of you out there, especially those wondering if this camera justifies the price jump. If you want to take AMAZING, rock your face off photos then this is Definately the camera for you. If you are not too fussy and are looking to jump into SLR photography for the first time then I would probably recommend more entry level Canon SLR cameras like the 600D.
